Purg is set in 2040, in a city that the kids nicknamed 'Purg' out of mutual hatred for it. The world is a dark cyberpunk dystopia full of wondrous and/or terrifying technology, psychotic deceitful global corporations, riots in the overcrowded cities and marauders raping and pillaging rural areas. The rich sit in their well secured zones looking down on a city full of the lower class; those not homeless and starving in the streets are sitting in their shoddy homes hard wired into the ether, escaping the horrors of the world around them.
Something stranger and darker exists unknown to the common person - practitioners of black magic, terrifying suicide and chaos cults, secret societies, and creatures of nightmares. This story follows a gang of "malc" (malcontent) teens who, during their foolish but amusing adventures, discover that there is more to the world around them, bizarre and terrible things, things even worse than humans.
Here is a quick write up on my next dnd campaign, for anyone curious about it. A group of slaves (pcs and npcs) escape slavery by stealing an airship and start a new life of trading, piracy and general saving the world shenanigans. Brudgar is the ship captain (dwarf fighter, very loyal to his ship and crew with great aspirations for adventure), Seldi is the engineer (female dwarf engineer, the kind heart of the ship), Magledoff is the sergeant of arms, former mercenary that aided in the slave escape (dwarf barbarian, drunken force of destruction with a wild but funloving demeaner), Ki (mysterious elf tween with powers of telekinesis, trying to find her place in the world), Bogmot the ships head of entertainment and general well being (dwarf druid/bard, alchemist. Super stoner pacifist persona. His Burmese doggo companion), Jeldi the quartermaster/tradesman (dwarf cleric with the trade domain, has a silver tongue but a mischeivious sometimes sketchy side, jeldi is openly and proudly gay), RugRug the ogre (ogre fighter, ships bodyguard, simple minded and politer than most ogres), Bixel (dwarf child, makes himself useful grabbing amunition and being helpful in general, kind boy who fantasizies about being a king in a new dwarven kingdom), Crabbit Grol the cook (dwarven fighter, speaks only in thick dwarven and generally is a moserable c##t, generally throws together what is available to feed the crew, but on occassion makes a fantastic feast for the crew on special occassions), and lastly "????" The cat ( to be named by the pcs, the ship mouser and official crewmate lieutenant even though he is just a cat)
